Itoigawa UNESCO Global Geopark

UNESCO Global Geopark, inscribed 2015, in Japan. The Fossa Magna Museum tells the story of Itoigawa’s jade and unlocks the mystery of how the Japanese islands were formed. At the Nou Fishing Port, the centre of one of Japan’s largest crab fisheries, and at Marine Dream Nou Roadside Station, browse one of the region’s largest seafood markets. The Spring Festivals of Amatsu Shrine and Nou Hakusan Shrine feature ancient ritual dances.
