Jeonbuk West Coast UNESCO Global Geopark

UNESCO Global Geopark, inscribed 2023, in South Korea. Sample local flavours rooted in the geopark’s coastal environment, where fresh seafood from the sea and tidal flats features in dishes such as seafood porridge, kalguksu (chicken noodle soup), and seasoned vegetables, followed by desserts made with wild mulberries and black raspberries. Join the Masil Walking Festival in May, where participants of all ages explore coastal geosites with geopark guides. The walk combines geological insights with cultural and historical heritage, concluding with local food experiences. From April to October, visit the Gochang Ecotourism Market, held each weekend at the Gochang Dolmen Site, offering local crafts, agricultural products, and traditional snacks.
