Apuan Alps UNESCO Global Geopark

UNESCO Global Geopark, inscribed 2015, in Italy. The Apuan Alps are characterised by their towering peaks, reaching elevations of over 2,000 m. Monte Pisanino, the highest in the range, offers breathtaking panoramic views. The area is renowned for its rich marble deposits quarried for centuries. The Alps are home to a network of caves, including Grotta del Vento and Antro del Corchia, where stalactites, stalagmites, and underground rivers can be explored.
