English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark

UNESCO Global Geopark, inscribed 2015, in United Kingdom. The South West Coast Path runs the entire 22-mile stretch of the geopark coastline taking in Berry Head National Nature Reserve, Cockington Country Park, woodlands, and farmland. Torre Abbey holds significant archaeological value as a nationally recognised scheduled monument. Established in 1196, it is one of the finest-preserved mediaeval abbeys in Devon and Cornwall. Sit beside the Dame Agatha Christie CBE sculpture on a harbour-front bench in Torquay, unveiled in 2025 and depicting the iconic author, who grew up in the area, with her dog Peter.
