Haţeg Country UNESCO Global Geopark

UNESCO Global Geopark, inscribed 2015, in Romania. Follow the “Dinosaur Valley” trail, beginning at the House of Dwarf Dinosaurs and leading to the “La Scoaba” geosite, where the first dinosaur fossils in the geopark were discovered. The trail continues to the traditional village of Ohaba-Sibișel, where granite boulders are used in dry-stone structures such as plot walls and houses. Walk the “Volcano Road” trail, starting in the centre of Densuș village and leading to the volcanic hills and the House of Volcanoes. Along the way, visitors can observe well-preserved exposures of pillow lavas.
