Estrela UNESCO Global Geopark

UNESCO Global Geopark, inscribed 2020, in Portugal. The Interpretative Centre of Zêzere Glacial Valley is a dedicated hub that provides insights into the rich geological history of the region, emphasising the significance of the glacial valley. The region boasts a collection of significant military monuments, with castles taking centre stage. Among them, the 13th-century Belmonte Castle stands out as a prominent attraction, along with the 12th-century castles of Celorico, Linhares da Beira, Guarda, Avô, and Folgosinho.
