Lauhanvuori-Hämeenkangas UNESCO Global Geopark
2020UNESCO Global Geopark, inscribed 2020, in Finland. Visit Susiluola (Wolf Cave), the oldest archaeological site in the geopark. The medieval road of Kyrönkankaantie is one of the best-preserved medieval roads in Finland. The region is home to vast wildlife, typical of the boreal coniferous forest, including bears, lynx and wolves. The elk population is high and more recently, a population of Finnish Forest Reindeer has been reintroduced to the area.
