UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2000, in United Republic of Tanzania. The East Usambara Biosphere Reserve is part of the Eastern Arc Mountain range and covers the Tanga region. It falls under the jurisdiction of three districts: Korogwe, Muheza and Mkinga. Livelihoods in and around the East Usambara Biosphere Reserve stem from small-scale farming and cattle breeding.
