Haut Niger Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2002, in Guinea. Situated in the Niger basin, this biosphere reserve is part of the Sudano-Guinean vegetation zone. It plays a central role in protecting primary open dry forests, which are believed to represent the last relicts in Guinea and probably in all western Africa.
