Jabal Al Rihane Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2007, in Lebanon. The Jabal Al Rihane Biosphere Reserve extends along the ridge of the southern Mount Lebanon chain, overlooking the Beqaa Valley to the east and the Mediterranean Sea to the west. Altitude ranges from 270 m in the south, where the Litani River forms a natural boundary, to 1,500 m in the north at Mzairaa, south of the villages of Jezzine and Niha.
