UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 1976, in Iran (Islamic Republic of). The Hara Biosphere Reserve is located in the Mehran River delta in the south of Iran. It lies near the Strait of Khuran between Qeshm Island and the Persian Gulf, and is a key biodiversity site because of its Avicennia mangrove ecosystem.
