Wuyishan Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 1987, in China. Wuyishan Biosphere Reserve lies where Wuyishan City, Jianyang City and Guangze County meet in northern Fujian Province. The reserve was established to protect mid-subtropical forest ecosystems and rare and endangered fauna and flora. It is a mission-oriented nature reserve focused on biodiversity protection and management, scientific research, public outreach and education, and sustainable operation.
