Can Gio mangrove Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2000, in Viet Nam. The Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve is located in the coastal district south-east of Ho Chi Minh City. The reserve provides opportunities to advance environmental protection across a continuum of habitats, from coastal areas to the boundaries of Ho Chi Minh City, the largest industrial city in Viet Nam. The mangrove forest hosts the highest diversity of mangrove plant species, mangrove-dwelling invertebrates, and mangrove-associated fish and shellfish species in the sub-region. It is regarded as the green lungs of the city.
