Fuvahmulah Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2020, in Maldives. The Fuvahmulah Biosphere Reserve is in the southern Maldives. Covering approximately 1,300 ha, it is the country’s only single-island administrative atoll. It hosts highly diverse coral ecosystems with healthy habitats and distinctive coral-sand beach formations. The atoll is notable for its single-island setting and shallow bowl form.
