Changnyeong Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2024, in Republic of Korea. Located in the central north of Gyeongsangnam-do Province, the Changnyeong Biosphere Reserve spans 531 km² and includes habitats from the forests of Mount Hwawang to the Upo Wetland and surrounding croplands. It supports freshwater ecosystems, forest habitats and sustainable agriculture. Local agriculture includes onions and garlic alongside ecotourism.
