Srébarna Biosphere Reserve
1977UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 1977, in Bulgaria. Srébarna Lake is the last Danube riverside lake preserved in Bulgaria and a unique example of a type of wetland that used to be common. It is a freshwater lake that supports a rich diversity of plant and animal life, including species characteristic of the region as well as some that are rare. Some plant formations are typical for the wetland, including floating reedbeds and flooded willow woodlands.
