Tzentralnosibirskii Biosphere Reserve
1985UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 1985, in Russian Federation. This biosphere reserve is divided from south to north by the Yenisey River, with the Siberian lowland to the west and the more elevated Siberian Plateau to the east. The river is 2–3 km wide, while the valley extends over 8–10 km. The glacial plain in the west is characterised by swamps and slow rivers, while rivers to the east are steep and swift. The biosphere reserve contains representatives of all taiga ecosystems of Central Siberia. The flora is typical of the middle taiga sub-zone, with Pinus sibirica and Larix as predominant species.
