Cuencas Altas de los Rios Manzanares, Lozoya y Guadarrama Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 1992, in Spain. Cuenca Alta del Río Manzanares Biosphere Reserve includes a regional park in midland and highland mountain areas. These are dominated by Mediterranean forests of evergreen oak (Quercus ilex ballota) and ash (Fraxinus angustifolia), dehesas or forested grasslands, mainly reafforested pine forests with Pinus pinaster, Pinus pinea, Pinus sylvestris, Pinus nigra and Pinus uncinata, and grasslands.
