Pribuzhskoye-Polesie Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2004, in Belarus. Pribuzhskoye-Polesie Biosphere Reserve lies in the south-west of Belarus in Brest and Malorita districts, the warmest part of the country. Its boundary follows the West Bug River to the west, the Belarus–Ukraine border to the south, district lines to the east, and the Brest forestry glades to the north. The reserve forms part of the West Polesie Transnational Biosphere Reserve spanning Belarus, Poland and Ukraine. The site is significant for its intact wetland–forest mosaic and for vital cross-border ecological connectivity. Its objectives focus on safeguarding the area’s natural conditions, enriching biological and landscape diversity, and maintaining traditional forms of land use where compatible with conservation.
