Middle-Volga Integrated Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2006, in Russian Federation. This biosphere reserve is a conservation, research and eco-educational institution of federal significance. Its purpose is to preserve and study the natural course of natural processes and phenomena and the genetic diversity of the plant and animal world. It also preserves and studies individual plant and animal communities, as well as the typical and unique ecological systems of the Middle Volga region that represent the entire ecosystem of the eastern part of Europe.
