Sierra del Rosario Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 1984, in Cuba. The Sierra del Rosario Biosphere Reserve is located in the eastern part of the Guaniguanico mountain range, between the provinces of Pinar del Río and Havana in Cuba, where both the north and south coasts can be seen. The reserve has a complex geological structure, with a wide diversity of rocks that produce different soils which, in part, help determine floral endemism in its landscape.
