La Primavera Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2006, in Mexico. Covering 30,500 ha and located within the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, La Primavera Biosphere Reserve plays an important environmental role in the region, including refilling groundwater reserves and absorbing carbon dioxide. Depending on the location of its forested areas, there is a wide diversity of ecosystems spanning two floristic provinces.
