Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark

UNESCO Global Geopark, inscribed 2015, in China. The Shengshou Temple in Nanwutai is where ancient Chinese Emperors worshipped, monks and Taoists devoted themselves to spiritual practice, and people made pilgrimages from the Qin (221–207 BCE) to the Han (581–618 CE) Dynasties. The Lantian Ape Man Site Museum offers a wealth of material contributing to the study of paleontology, paleoclimatology, paleogeology, and Quaternary geological activities. Take a walk through alpine meadows and along clear mountain streams in Heihe, where Quaternary glacial features and cultural relics meet in a landscape shaped by ancient plate tectonics.
