Taza Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2004, in Algeria. Taza Biosphere Reserve lies on the Mediterranean coast in the Kabylie region. It is characterised by spectacular cliffs, beaches, mountains and valleys. It is also noted for the Barbary ape (Macaca sylvanus), an endangered species of monkey and the only macaque primate in North Africa.
