Mount Chatkal Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 1978, in Uzbekistan. This biosphere reserve covers the south-western end of the Chatkal'skiy Range in the western Tien-Shan Mountains. Covering altitudes between 1,110 and 4,000 metres above sea level, Mount Chatkal Biosphere Reserve has high habitat and species diversity. Habitats include mountain steppes, mountain forests, rocky areas, alpine meadows, river valleys and floodplain forests.
