Jinggangshan Biosphere Reserve
2012UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2012, in China. Jinggangshan Nature Reserve was established in 1981 as a provincial nature reserve and was reclassified as a National Nature Reserve in 2000. It has been incorporated as a China Biosphere Reserve and a China National Forestry Demonstration Nature Reserve and is one of the 35 zones listed in the China National Biodiversity Conservation Strategy and Action Plan. The reserve hosts distinctive, biodiverse primary broadleaf forests that support various local development initiatives.
