Crocker Range Biosphere Reserve
2014UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2014, in Malaysia. Situated south of the World Heritage Site Mount Kinabalu, the Crocker Range Biosphere Reserve forms a chain of mountains with no distinct peaks in western Sabah. The rocky topography consists of mountains, hills and small basins dissected by deep river valleys. Elevation ranges from 6 m to 2,076 m above sea level. The area receives around 3,000 mm of precipitation per year and is home to a wide array of endangered species. The biosphere reserve encompasses rich biodiversity and a tropical hill–montane landscape.
