Daqingshan Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2025, in China. Located in the central Yinshan Mountains of Inner Mongolia, the Daqingshan Biosphere Reserve protects one of the richest biodiversity hotspots of the region. It contains a unique mosaic of forests, shrubs, and grasslands bridging the North China forest and Mongolian Plateau grassland systems. Historically situated on the ancient “Tea Horse Road,” the reserve is also a cultural crossroads linking China with Mongolia, Russia, and Europe.
