Kinabatangan Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2025, in Malaysia. The Kinabatangan Biosphere Reserve, located in Sabah on the island of Borneo, follows the Kinabatangan River, one of Malaysia’s longest waterways. It links the Heart of Borneo’s mountainous headwaters to the Lower Kinabatangan Segama Wetlands, a Ramsar site of international importance. The reserve integrates forests, wetlands, and community landscapes into one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic conservation corridors.
