Terras do Miño Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2002, in Spain. Terras do Miño, located in Galicia, is a traditional cultural landscape with many highly important natural habitats and terrace systems formed by erosion and accumulation, associated with specific sections of the Río Miño. The Miño river network drains south-west Galicia in the Iberian Hercynian Massif, underpinning the area’s geomorphology and shaping its ecological and cultural character.
