UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2015, in France. The Gorges du Gardon Biosphere Reserve is in the Gard department of southern France. The landscape is typically Mediterranean, with scrub, evergreen oak, the Gardon River and cliffs. It harbours endangered and protected species such as Egyptian vulture, Bonelli’s eagle and woodcock orchid.
