Delta del Paraná Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2000, in Argentina. The Lower Paraná River Delta is an extensive wetland system. This type of ecosystem has attracted increasing interest due to recognition of its multiple functions. It is now also understood that these areas are highly sensitive to alterations. They are, and have long been, subject to various forms of human intervention that interfere with their functioning and place them at a high level of criticality.
