El Chaco Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2005, in Paraguay. This large biosphere reserve contains important national parks in Paraguay, such as Defensores del Chaco, Médanos del Chaco and Teniente Agripino Enciso, and other protected areas, including Cerro Cabrera, Río Negro National Park and the Cañada El Carmen Reserve. It also includes a single urban centre on the Paraguay River, Bahía Negra.
