Pantanos de Centla Biosphere Reserve

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2006, in Mexico. The reserve is located in the physiographic province Llanura Costera del Golfo Sur and the subprovince Llanuras y Pantanos Tabasqueños. Topographic formations are dominated by a barrier plain along the coast, including beaches, and, above all, the coastal floodplain. These landscapes are formed by the mouths of the Grijalva and Usumacinta rivers.
