Podocarpus-El Condor Biosphere Reserve
2007UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, inscribed 2007, in Ecuador. Among the most biodiverse areas in the Neotropics, the biosphere reserve covers 1,140,080 ha across the provinces of Loja and Zamora Chinchipe, including 10 cantons and 48 parishes. Its core zone includes three SNAP (National System of Protected Areas) sites: Podocarpus National Park, Yacuri National Park and Cerro Plateado Biological Reserve.
